This past weekend, Wrestling competed against No. 23 Wisconsin at Stoughton High School in Wisconsin, falling 19-15.
The Bison were coming off a narrow defeat against No. 18 Oklahoma as they prepared for their third dual match against the Badgers. Wisconsin entered the contest carrying a two-match winning streak after defeating North Dakota State and Ohio.
The Orange and Blue trailed early after the Badgers opened the first five matches with a 15-3 run. The tide turned dramatically when Noah Mulvaney ’27 scored an upset victory over a ranked Badger in his home state, starting a run of four straight wins for the Bison. Myles Takats ’27 kept the momentum rolling, earning a major decision, the Bison’s first non-decision result of the season. Mikey Bartush ’26 rallied back from an early deficit to continue the winning streak, making the score 15-12. Dillon Bechtold ’28 secured his first dual season win with a gutsy 5-4 victory to even the score at 15-15. Despite their hard-fought effort, the Bison fell 19-15 to the Badgers.
The Bison continue next against No. 19 Pittsburgh on Dec. 7 at 12:00 p.m.
