In their home opener, Women’s Lacrosse claimed an 18-10 victory against UMBC. Despite being outscored 4-0 in the fourth quarter, the Bison’s dominant 12-4 first half helped them secure the win.
Megan Krestinski ’26 had a stellar performance, leading the team in scoring with a career-high seven goals on seven shots, also tying her at second for goals in a single game in the Bucknell records. She also notched a team-high three assists. Her 10 total points tied her for fifth in the Bison record book for total points in a single game.
Two other Bison recorded hat-tricks. Caroline Sheridan ’26 had four goals and one assist, and Caleigh Cummiskey ’29 had three goals and one assist. Katie Powers ’29 scored her first collegiate goal. Katie Browne ’26, Kat Reynolds ’28 and Regan Sansiviero ’26 also added a goal for the Orange and Blue.
The Bison converted all 18 shots on goal. Bella Crowley ’27 and Julia Dembowitz ’26 combined for 11 saves. Crowley started in goal and maintained a .600 save percentage with nine saves. Alex Macutek ’28 led the Bison with five draw controls.
Cummiskey opened the game with a quick goal off of Krestinski’s assist, and the Orange and Blue kept scoring. The Bison were up 8-3 at the end of the first quarter. The Bison went into the locker room at halftime with a 12-4 lead.
In the third quarter, Krestinski recorded her seventh goal of the game, and the Bison went into the fourth with an 18-6 advantage. Although the Bison didn’t score in the fourth quarter, they took the game 18-10.
Following the win against UMBC, the Bison fell 21-9 at Penn State. The nine goals against the Nittany Lions were the most scored against Penn State in program history.
Cummiskey led the Bison in scoring with a hat trick in the second half. Sheridan and Krestinski each added two goals; Browne and Macutek each added one. Krestinski led the Bison with four draw controls.
The Bison host St. Bonaventure tomorrow at 3 p.m.
