Women’s Cross Country finishes in the top 25 at the Paul Short Invitational

This past Saturday, alongside the Bison Men’s Cross Country team, the Bison Women’s team finished 23rd out of 45 teams at the annual Paul Short Invitational at the 6k College Women Gold race.

Along with comments about the Bison Men’s Cross Country Team at the Invitational, Head Coach Kevin Donner spoke on the performance of the women’s team. While his general comments about the realistic possibility of high improvement for both teams stayed the same, he also had specific notes for the top two finishers, Abby Paczewski ’24 and Caryn Rippey ’26. Donner applauded both girls for their quick runs and impressive scores. He believes that if a few more women can close the ranks, the Bison Women’s Cross-Country team will have a great shot at the championships.

The top finisher of the race was Paczewski who ended up in the 45th spot with an impressive time of 21:17.1. Coming in behind her for the Orange and Blue was Rippey who finished in the 51st spot with a time of 21:18.9. Rounding out the top three was Hailey Reinhard ’27 who finished 157th with a finishing time of 22:10.8. Next for the top five Bison finishers was Laura Sakol ’24 who placed 197th with a time of 22:30.2 to place in her the top 200 racers. Lastly, Ally Clarke ’24 closed out the top five Bison Cross Country racers in the 200th spot with a time of 22:31.6.

Get ready to support Women’s Cross Country at their next event in the ECAC-IC4A Championships on Oct. 13.
