Freshman Sofia Nogalo ‘27 has been named this week’s Bison of the Week after an impressive top-10 finish at the Navy Fall Invitation. This marks Nogalo’s third top-10 finish in four starts this season. Nogalo tied for eighth place out of 88 players after a 2-over-par 74 in the final round of the invitational. 

Nogalo’s performance helped lift the Bison women’s golf team to a fourth place finish out of 15 teams. She came up with two birdies towards the end of the round on Sunday. Alongside Nogalo, Paige Richter ‘26 and Nicole Yun ‘27 contributed birdies to put the Bison in fourth place. The team finished with a 310in the final round, their best in the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.  

Nogalo has been on a roll this season, having placed T-3rd at the Bucknell Invitational and T-1st at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational earlier this year. After Sunday’s showing, Nogalo lowered her season average to 75.3, the best on the team.
