Shaelan McNally ’28 has been named this week’s Patriot League Runner of the Week and Bison of the Week after winning the Lehigh Open on Friday, Aug. 29. She led the Bison to a meet victory against six other squads, including last year’s national runner-up, West Virginia.
McNally ran a personal best 21:06.3 in the 6k, 27.3 seconds ahead of Caryn Rippey ’26, her teammate and runner-up. This is the second year in a row the sophomore has won the season opener, after winning the Father Bede Invitational in 2024.
McNally is the first women’s cross-country runner to win the Bison of the Week award since Ashlyn Ramos ’21 in 2021.
McNally and the Bison compete again on Sept. 13 at Manhattan University to take part in the Jasper Invitational.
