This week’s Bison of the Week honoree is Sidney Shaffer ’27 of Volleyball. Shaffer also won this week’s Patriot League Player of the Week award.
Shaffer was a key player this past weekend, as the Bison improved their winning streak to four games with victories over Holy Cross and four-time defending conference champion Colgate.
Across the Orange and Blue’s 2-0 weekend, Shaffer was dominant. The junior tallied 29 kills on a .451 hitting percentage, while adding eight blocks. Against the Crusaders, Shaffer set a program record for single-game hitting percentage at .800, while leading the Bison with 16 kills. She now sits fifth in the Patriot League in hitting percentage (.328).
“I think when I found my groove after the first few kills, I allowed myself to settle in and really let myself enjoy the match at a high competitive level which is when I am having the most fun because the game becomes a match of almost playing against myself, and seeing how I can work on my strategic game, being able to add some tips and throws in as well as getting a traditional swinging kill,” Shaffer said.
This was Shaffer’s third career Bison of the Week honor and second of the 2025 campaign. Next up for Volleyball is a home matchup against Army on Saturday, Nov. 15.
