Bison Women’s Water Polo has continued to have a busy schedule, playing in four games this past week in the Princeton Invitational.

In their first game of the week, the Bison took on Villanova and fell 14-10. Both teams came out strong with the game tied 3-3 heading into the second quarter. Bella Schraa ’26 began the second quarter with a goal to put the Bison up by one, but Villanova responded with a 3-0 run. The Bison kept the score gap within one after a goal from Malli Challa ’26, but soon after the Wildcats raced ahead with a 9-2 run to stretch their lead.

The Orange & Blue also saw goals from Caitlin Stott ’27, Sidney Finkler ’25, Boati Motau ’25 and Isabelle Monaghan ’24, who shot 57%.

In the second game of the tournament, the Orange & Blue lost 15-5 to No.19 Wagner. The Bison were only able to score once throughout the first half, in comparison to Wagner’s 7. That single goal was thanks to Monaghan.

In the second half, the Bison saw a few more goals, however were unable to catch up. Motau tallied a point, as did Schraa, Izzy Lippolis ’25 and Regan Coon ’27.

Next, the Bison took on Mount St. Mary’s in a nail-biter game where the Orange & Blue ultimately fell 13-10. Mount took the lead in the beginning, finishing the first half up 8-5. Despite impressive showings from both Monaghan, who notched four goals, and Finkler who earned a hat trick, the Bison were unable to defeat Mount.

The Bison also saw goals from Motau, Gwen Kallmeyer ’26 and Anna Plante ’26.

On the final day of the tournament, the Bison were finally able to pull out a win, defeating Siena 9-8.

Yet again, Monaghan tallied four points for the team, and both Motau and Finkler got early points on the board to put the Bison up 4-2. Despite their best efforts to catch up, Siena was unable to break the Bison’s lead, especially after goals from Schraa and Stott in the third quarter.

Monaghan had the last goal for the Bison in the fourth quarter, securing their 9-8 win.

Bucknell has another busy weekend coming up, where they will take on Princeton, Harvard and Brown in Princeton, NJ March 2 and 3.
