Women’s Rowing beats Fordham on the Susquehanna

Women’s Rowing took on the Fordham Rams this past Saturday on the Susquehanna River. It was a sunny fall afternoon, and the Varsity Four for the Bison showed up.

The Varsity Four, coxed by Molly Garrahy ’24 and rowed by Caroline Corbett ’26, Victoria Miller-Tuchon ’26, Morgan Brill ’26 and Campbell Coonley ’27, torched Fordham’s A-boat with about a nine-second victory with a time of 6:57.77.

In the Varsity Eight division, the Orange and Blue were beaten out by the Rams by just about two seconds in the first Varsity Eight and by about nine seconds in the second.

Out of the three Novice 8 entries for the Orange and Blue, all finished ahead of Fordham’s Novice 8, with the Novice A boat for Bucknell cruising through the course in a time of 6:15.73.

“We are a very close group, so it is very easy to translate that to rowing on the water. We all just focus on following the woman in front of us and take the race stroke by stroke,” said Corbett.

Women’s Rowing gets back on the water again next Saturday against Villanova at 9 a.m. and Lehigh at 3 p.m.
