On Saturday, Sept. 27, Bucknell Women’s Soccer traveled to Worcester, Mass., to face off against Holy Cross. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Much of the contest was even playing, but Holy Cross struck first in the 23rd minute off a shot through traffic from a corner kick. Going into halftime, the Bison were trailing Holy Cross and knew a change needed to be made.
Henna Andican ’26 built momentum for the Orange and Blue around the 60th minute. Andican received the ball off a throw-in inside her own half and spun off her defender to play a long ball down the left sideline for Gabby Parker ’29. Parker ran onto the ball and took on two defenders in the process. At the top of the box, Parker took a shot, which was originally deflected but eventually spun in. This goal marked Parker’s third of the season and tied up the game.
During the game, Bison goalie Reese Dolan ’28 finished with four saves, one major save coming with 45 seconds left in the game off of a free kick. The Orange and Blue finished with 11 shots and seven corner kicks.
This week, the Bison will travel to Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 4, to compete against Loyola.
