On Saturday, Bucknell Women’s Soccer traveled to Hamilton, New York to face off against Patriot League rival Colgate. Bucknell came in hoping for a win, but unfortunately lost 4-2.
The Bison came out strong with a chance to score two minutes into the game with a through ball from Gabby Parker ’29 to Henna Andican ’26, but Colgate’s goalkeeper came out to make the stop.
Colgate struck first with a goal in the 14th minute, then followed that up with a second goal in the 38th minute.
After halftime, the Bison were down 2-0 and looking to counter. Unfortunately, that didn’t last long with Colgate scoring its third goal just a minute into the second half.
The Bison never gave up. Later in the second half, the Orange and Blue cut the deficit to 3-2.
The first Bison goal came from a header by Caitlyn Scott ’27 from a corner by Ava Palladino ’28. Fourteen minutes later, Presley Sutter ’28 played a beautiful ball to Katie Connell ’28 and sent her on a 2v1 break. Connell capitalized and tucked her shot into the left post. This goal marked Connell’s fifth goal of the season.
Colgate scored their fourth and final goal of the game from a penalty kick earned in the box in the 78th minute.
The Bison’s regular season ended on Wednesday, Oct. 29 when they lost to American at home.
