Women’s Field Hockey was at home this past Saturday, Oct. 4, to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders. The Orange and Blue secured a 4-1 victory, bringing them to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League.
All four points came from different players, showcasing their focus and offensive diversity. The Bison also collected nine penalty corners throughout the match. Showing her potential as one of the conference’s best forwards, Reese Czajkowski ’28 scored for the fourth game in a row.
The Orange and Blue scoring started on their very first corner when Bella Notaro ’28 brought the ball in to Nicky Punt ’26 for a set-up. Punt gave it over to Kira Leclercq ’26, who put it past the Crusaders’ goalie, making it her sixth goal of the season. The next goal came in the second period with a corner opportunity from Leclercq, who shot it towards the goal. Czajkowski was able to get in front of it for a deflected goal. This point tied the two once again for the lead in goals for the Orange and Blue.
With under two minutes until halftime, the Bison added another tally to the scoreboard with yet another penalty corner. Gianna Puorro ’26 tapped in her first shot of 2025 after an assist from Leclercq. The final point from the Orange and Blue came from a broken penalty corner from Punt, who was able to recover for a pass towards Ryane Fisahn ’27. Fisahn was able to find the back of the net for the fourth time this season. The Crusaders managed to add a point on the board with a long pass in the final period, but a strong defensive showing from the Bison prevented a comeback.
The Bison hit the road to take on the Boston University Terriers this Saturday, Oct. 11.
