Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving both defeated Lehigh on Senior Day at Kinney Natatorium on Jan. 24. The men claimed a 198-102 victory with 13 event wins. The women defeated the Mountain Hawks 182-118 with 10 event wins.
The team of Natalia Gajecki ’29, Hanna Bingley ’26, Sam Benzija ’27 and Sara Ketron ’27 claimed the first event win of the day in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.97. The team of Drew Davis ’29, Matt Raudabaugh ’26, Finn Russell ’27 and Colin Smith ’27 also claimed victory in the same event with a time of 1:31.90.
This was the first win of the day for Davis, who would finish the day with two more top finishes. In the 100-yard backstroke, he swam a mark of 50.38 and in the 200-yard IM, he claimed victory with a time of 1:52.02.
Kelly Byrne ’27 was another multi-event winner. She won her first of three events in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:39.27. Byrne would go on to find gold in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM with time of 2:20.67 and 2:07.90 respectively.
Jason Kellerman ’29 found similar success, winning four events of his own. In the 200-yard freestyle, he finished in a time of 1:40.67. Kellerman would claim wins in the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard butterfly and as a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay with teammates Drew Greene ’27, Smith and Riley Twiss ’27.
Clara Renner ’28 and Sofia Burns ’28 both added two more event wins to the Bison’s total. Renner found the gold in the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle, with times of 2:01.93 and 5:02.90 respectively. Burns took home the top spot in both the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke with times of 57.04 2:04.60 respectively.
On the diving boards, Natalie Penman ’27 was the top finisher in the 1-meter dive with a score of 232.43. Jackson Vinarub ’26 and Jack Krug ’26 took home both diving events for the Orange and Blue with Vinarub winning the 1-meter event and Krug the 3-meter event.
With these wins, the Bison improved their records to 7-2 (6-2) for the women and 5-4 (4-4) for the men. Both teams continue their seasons on Jan. 31 at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
