The Bison enter the Patriot League Tournament with an 11-10 overall record and a 2-2 mark in league play. On the opposing side, the Terriers bring a 3-3 league record while the Mountain Hawks enter as the top seed for the first time in program history. The Bison battled hard against the Terriers in the tournament quarterfinals.
Amar Tahirovic ’26 and Adam Stavrakas ’26 secured a strong win on Court 1.
Brendan McDonald ’26 and Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega ’26 followed up with a victory on Court 2 to secure the point for the Bison. Tahirovic added to his earlier win in singles play, with a dominant performance on Court 1, besting his opponent 6-4, 6-1.
With this win, the senior tied Nick Bybel’s ’16 school record of 112 career match victories. McDonald and Will Robinson ’27 also recorded impressive straight-set wins against their opponents to secure a commanding win for the Bison, 4-1.
The Orange and Blue fell early in the semifinals.
The Mountain Hawks took the top two doubles positions, securing the point and an opening lead on the Bison. Both teams split the first four singles matches; Tahirovic and Liam Kilmer ’27 recorded straight-set wins on Courts 1 and 4.
The Mountain Hawks secured wins on Courts 2 and 3, leaving the Bison with no margin for error as they faced a must-win scenario in the final two matches. Robinson held a late advantage on Court 6, but the Mountain Hawks’ win at fifth singles provided the decisive fourth point to end the Bison run.
With a record-breaking 113th career victory, Tahirovic surpassed Nick Bybel for the most singles wins in program history, capping a senior season that saw him become the only player to ever post two 30-win seasons. In addition to his singles milestones, the senior departs with the school record for combined singles/doubles victories, alongside McDonald, who set the new program mark for career doubles wins.
