This past weekend, Men’s Tennis started Patriot League action, securing back-to-back wins against Loyola and Saint Francis. The Orange and Blue entered the matchup looking to bounce back after a tough series of matchups over the spring campaign. The Loyola Greyhounds were coming off a strong win against Gettysburg while the Red Flash entered with a three-game losing streak.
Opening the weekend against the Greyhounds, the Orange and Blue found confidence early, winning all three doubles matches. Amar Tahirovic ’26 and Brendan McDonald ’26 recorded a 6-2 win on Court 1, while Will Robinson ’27 and Nelson Alapi ’28 secured the doubles point with a win on Court 2. Tahirovic added onto his momentum with a dominant showing over his opponent at first singles, giving him 194 all-time victories, tying the Bison record for combined singles and doubles wins.
Following the win, Adam Stavrakas ’26, Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega ’26, and Liam Kilmer ’27 added three straight-set wins. McDonald and Robinson added bonus points with two additional wins to secure a dominant Bison victory over the Greyhounds. In their second matchup against Saint Francis, McDonald and Bain Moreno de Vega fueled the Bison attack, opening the day with a 6- 2 victory at Court 1.
The Red Flash fought back with a win on Court 3, but Stavrakas and Robinson secured the point with a 6-3 win on Court 2. Kilmer added another victory to his weekend, giving the Bison an early push in singles play. Stavrakas and McDonald continued on their dominant early showings with two straight-set wins against their opponents. Alapi and Shiv Singh ’28 followed with two more victories, securing a double-win weekend for the Bison.
The Bison compete next against Army at home on Saturday, March 28.
