Men’s Basketball dropped its fifth straight game to Holy Cross on Feb. 22. The Bison fell 72-63 after entering the halftime locker room in a 31-30 deficit.
The Bison were able to keep it tight in the first few minutes before Holy Cross was able to get out to a 17-10 lead. Then, the Orange and Blue responded to take the lead with just under eight and a half minutes to go in the first half.
The Bison stretched its lead to 27-21 with just over five minutes to go, putting itself in a position to win the contest and snap the previous four-game skid. However, Holy Cross closed out the half hot from the field to take a 31-30 lead heading into the break.
The second half of the game remained neck and neck in the first 6 minutes.
However, the Bison went cold offensively, allowing Holy Cross to generate a 66-56 lead with just over two to play, essentially sealing the deal.
The Orange and Blue were able to find some buckets late, but were never able to close the gap in the final minutes.
Achile Spadone ’26 and Amon Dörries ’29 led the Bison in scoring with 20 each. Pat Curtin ’29 was the lone other Bison in double-figure scoring with 16.
The Orange and Blue shot 37% from the field as a team and 4-of-21 (19%) from the three-point line and committing 10 turnovers.
The Bison allowed Holy Cross to shoot 47% from the field and 9-of-19 (47%) from the perimeter.
The Bison compete next at Lehigh on Saturday.
