Men’s Golf competed in the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines, finishing 14th out of 17 teams. The Bison are entering its second of six spring events, after finishing 19th at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Arizona mid February.
The Orange and Blue played in five fall tournaments, with a top finish of T-4th at Colgate’s Alex Lagowitz Memorial. Last year at the invitational, the Bison finished 19th, returning three men who competed there. The Bison opened play with a 306 on Sunday, slotting them 16th. James Robbins ’26 was the low Bison with a 73, tying him for 33rd place heading into Monday.
The Bison recorded stronger performances on the second day of play, with Robbins (72) and Taylor Kuehn ’27 (73) fueling the surge.
Patrick Pritsios ’28 matched his career best with a 2-under-par 70, giving the Orange and Blue a 4-over 292, moving them into 15th place. On Tuesday, the Bison continued the momentum with three scoring under-par. Kuehn and Jack Hartman ’28 both carded 2-under 70s, and Robbins recorded a 1-under 71.
Pritsios finished with a 76, while Jaxon Brown ’29 shot 78. Hayden Quinn ’26 played as an individual with a very strong performance, scoring 72 after a pair of 74s. Robbins tied for 25th place as the Bison’s low man for the week, tallying two birdies, 16 pars and only one bogey in the final round. The Orange and Blue ended with a strong 1-under par 287 performance, rebounding nicely after a tough opening round, finishing 14th at the UC San Diego Invitational. The Bison continue next in the Galloway Intercollegiate at Galloway National GC, New Jersey, on April 5-6.
