Water Polo goes 1-2 at Princeton Invitational

The Bison Men’s Water Polo team competed in the Princeton Invitational this past weekend, starting with facing CWPA rankings top 20 teams No. 15 Cal Baptist and No. 18 Harvard.

The Bison opened up against No. 15 Cal Baptist and were able to stay in the game for the first half. Neither team led by more than a goal. The Bison held onto the lead on four separate occasions. Jack Bruce ’25 scored the sixth goal for the Orange and Blue in the first half with about five and a half minutes left to play. Cal Baptist responded with two goals to close out the half, putting them up 7-6.

The Lancers put up seven more goals throughout the second half, while the Bison were only able to score two. The game ended 14-8, with two goals coming from Shay Gillearn ’25, Hasan Mogultay ’25 and Sean Michael Tunnicliff ’27 each and one each from Bruce and Ian Shultz ’26.

Later that day, the Bison faced No. 18 Harvard, who went on an early 5-0 run that the Bison were unable to recover from. Bruce, Walker Butler ’24, Aleska Stefanovic ’26 and Doruk Ozar ’24 each scored for the Bison, but ultimately the team fell 14-4 to Harvard.
