Men’s Soccer opened up conference play this past weekend on the road at Lafayette, where the Bison began their Patriot League slate on a high note. The Orange and Blue took down the Leopards 2-0 to move to 4-1-1 on the season.
It was a defensive showing for the Bison, as two first half goals from the Orange and Blue were all the squad needed to keep Lafayette away. Zane Domsohn ’26 and Drew Roskos ’28 each notched goals in the first half to send the Bison to the locker room up 2-0.
The defense was the catalyst for the big win, as the Bison posted their first shutout of the season. The Orange and Blue didn’t allow a single shot on net to the Leopards as goalkeeper Freddie Lapworth ’26 continues to look like the best goalie the Patriot League has to offer. Lapworth was 2024 PL Goalkeeper of the Year and 2025 Preseason PL Goalkeeper of the Year.
Lafayette totaled just three shots through the entirety of the match as the Bison secured its first win over the Leopards since 2018, snapping a six-game winless streak. The Bison outshot the Leopards 11-3.
Roskos led the way with five shots of his own, and Cade Whitmire ’27 assisted for the second straight match.
“I’m proud of our defense today and getting the clean sheet which was overdue in some ways,” said head coach Dave Brandt. “We had plenty of chances to put the game away and we know 2-0 is a dangerous score. These league matches are a dogfight and we know how tough they’re going to be.”
The Bison stay on the road next weekend as they will face Colgate on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. EST.
