Men’s Soccer is finishing up their regular season, but thanks to a successful week, they are confirmed to be competing in the Patriot League Championship Playoffs. The Bison played a Halloween matchup against Navy in Annapolis, where the team defeated the Midshipmen 1-0. The Orange and Blue came back again on Tuesday night to tie Loyola in a no-score game, solidifying their place in the playoff tournament.
The Bison shined under the Friday-night lights in Maryland as Drew Roskos ’28 scored his seventh goal of the season with an assist from Freddie Lapworth ’26. This point gives Roskos the lead in goals in the Patriot League, and qualified the team for the playoff tournament.
Lapworth made his contributions early in the match, with a save in the first three minutes of the game. This save allowed him to set up Roskos for the goal, with plenty of game left to keep the lead. Jack Lucas ’27 also made attempts on the goal in the 38th minute, but was proven unsuccessful by his Navy opponents. While no more points were scored during either half, the Bison still fought tough to keep the Midshipmen back from tying. The Bison ultimately finished with a 7-6 shot advantage and a win from the night.
Tuesday was another tough night for the Bison as they faced off against the Greyhounds after clinching their spot in the playoffs. The game turned aggressive as Loyola carded 18 fouls, and the Bison picked up 11. The teams tousled back and forth, but neither team gave an inch. The climax of the game was in the 89th minute when David Krumov ’27 and Zane Domsohn ’26 made goal attempts. Loyola then tried to make their own attempts, but Rex Alphen ’27 made a save for the Bison, one of his two from the second half after Lapworth gained an injury that pulled him out. The game ended scoreless on both sides, giving the Bison the fifth seed into the tournament.
The Orange and Blue will start their postseason in the Patriot League Quarterfinal match away at Boston University this Saturday at 1 p.m.
