Men’s Lacrosse earned a win to open up its 2026 campaign with a 14-8 win over Manhattan College over the weekend.
Peter Grandolfo ’27 and Sean Berrigan ’27 both scored in the first five minutes to bring the Bison out to an early lead. Manhattan then responded with three straight goals in less than three minutes, but that would end up being the only time the Jaspers led all night.
Will Hopkins ’26 and Hans Huber ’27 both netted goals within 30 seconds of each other to put Bucknell right back in the lead. Grandolfo and Anthony Panetti ’28 both scored early goals to begin the second quarter, opening the Bison lead to 7-3.
In the third quarter, Manhattan was able to bring the tally to 8-6 before a goal by Michael Meyer ’26, followed by two straight from Owen Kovacs ’26 brought the lead for the Orange and Blue up to 11-6.
Meyer and Grandolfo both tallied hat tricks, while Kovacs and Hopkins contributed three points each. Luke Brunner ’27 led the Bison with five ground balls.
The Bison outshot Manhattan 45-24 on the evening and won the ground ball department 38-32.
Next up for Men’s Lacrosse is a home matchup tomorrow, against St. Bonaventure.
