This past weekend, Men’s Lacrosse competed against Loyola in a Patriot League battle at the Ridley Athletic Complex, losing 12-13.
The Bison enter the matchup coming off a strong win against Colgate on March 14. On the other hand, the Greyhounds are looking to respond after a tough loss against Georgetown earlier in the week.
The Orange and Blue got the early jump with a 3-0 opening lead. The Greyhounds responded, going on a 6-1 run and taking the lead, 6-4. The test of strength continued as the Bison found four straight goals, while the Greyhounds matched to make the score 10-8. The Bison continued the attack, as Peter Grandolfo ’27 tied the game at 11-11, finding the back of the cage early in the fourth quarter. Scores stagnated as the quarter progressed, with both teams displaying clinical attacks and excellent defense.
The Greyhounds broke the dry streak with just under six minutes of play left, leading 12-11. Following the faceoff, Loyola found another to make it 13-11. Michael Meyer ’26 kept the attack going, but couldn’t break through the Greyhound’s defense.
Meyer finally broke free with a goal, but with only a second of play left, the Bison were left with no time to begin another attack. The Orange and Blue fell 12-13 against Loyola despite a valiant effort.
The Bison compete next against Lafayette at home on Saturday, March 28.
