Women’s Basketball has now lost its last two games after winning its previous three. The Bison fell to Boston University at home on Feb. 14, 68-54.
Boston was scorching hot from the field to begin the contest, scoring 21 points in the first quarter to take a 21-16 lead. The Orange and Blue were very inefficient from the field through the first frame, but they were able to utilize the free-throw line to stay in it.
The Terriers went ice cold in the second quarter, only tallying seven points. This allowed the Bison to take the lead heading into the halftime locker room, securing a 32-28 lead after Reese Zemitis ’28 knocked down a three as time expired on the game clock.
Boston was able to find an offensive rhythm in the second half, which proved to be an issue for the Bison. The Terriers scored 20 points in both quarters of the second half, outscoring the Orange and Blue 40-22 in the second half.
As a team, the Terriers shot 53% from the field and 8-of-20 (40%) from three-point range. Boston’s 68 points is the highest point total the Bison have allowed to an opponent since Jan. 7.
The Orange and Blue shot 33% from the field as a unit and 6-of-28 (21%) from beyond the arc. The Bison were outscored 28-20 in the paint.
Zemitis led the way with 14 points, with the other two Bison in double figures being Tuana Coskun ’27 and Mariah Hardy ’29, each with 10 points of their own.
Next up for the Bison is a road game against Holy Cross on Feb. 21.
