Men’s Lacrosse was on the road this past weekend, taking on both Robert Morris and Iona. The Orange and Blue dealt with a mixed bag of results this weekend, including taking home their first loss of the season. Their record now stands at 3-1 for the season thus far.
Starting on Saturday, the Bison traveled to Moon Township, Pa., to take on Robert Morris. Despite a career-high-tying six goals for Michael Meyer ’26, the Colonials ended the contest ahead with a score of 12-16.
The Bison started the scoring in the first quarter with a shot from Peter Grandolfo ’27. Robert Morris responded with four goals of their own in just 21 seconds. Owen Kovacs ’26 and Meyer were able to add two tallies to the scoreboard to bring the deficit to 7-6 going into the half.
Coming out of halftime hot, Sean Berrigan ’27 was able to find the back of the net off a pass from Luke Brunner ’27 to tie up the score. The Colonials pushed ahead with a 10-8 lead until Berrigan made a tough shot on an inside roll to make it a one-point game. With 9:43 on the clock, Meyer made a shot on the run to once again tie up the game. With just over a minute left in the game, the Colonials led by two, and it remained that way until the final buzzer sounded.
Coming off their close loss against Robert Morris, the Orange and Blue picked it up, securing a 16-8 victory against Iona on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Meyer had another strong game with four goals and an assist, bringing him to 14 goals and three assists in four games.
