Women’s Tennis goes 0-2 in Virginia

Women’s Tennis went on a Virginia road trip to take on Washington & Lee on Friday and Richmond on Saturday.

The Bison fell 7-2 to Washington & Lee on day one.

The Orange and Blue went 1-1 on doubles play, with Abby Platt ’26 and Whitney King ’25 continuing their stellar play as a doubles squad. The duo won 8-6 on court one, moving their record 12-0 in 2023-24 as a team. Tyne Miller ’24 and Madi Sebulsky ’24, the other doubles team for the Bison on Friday, fell in a tight one, 8-7.

The Bison picked up singles points via King winning her matchup in three sets and Platt doing the same. Platt is now 9-2 in singles play this season.

On Saturday, the Bison went to Richmond to take on the Spiders, falling 6-1 in the process.

Anna Lajos ’25 won her singles match in three sets, and after Miller won her first set in singles, she dropped the next two to fall in her match. 

King and Platt suffered their first loss as a doubles team this year in this one, and they are now 12-1 on the season. 

The Bison, now 1-5, return to action next on Feb. 9 against Saint Francis. The matchup will be showcased in Williamsport, Pennsylvania at the Central PA Tennis Center.
