The Bison took on Colgate at home on Saturday, April 4. Mirra Manolov ’26 was able to secure a 4-3 win for the Orange and Blue, the first Patriot League win for the season. The victory brings the Bison to 8-10 overall and 1-5 in the Patriot League.
The match opened with doubles play, which went 2-1 to secure the doubles point. Cameron King ’28 and Natalie Devraj ’28 paired up at the number three spot to defeat their opponent 6-2. The Raiders won at the number one spot, bringing it to 1-1 overall. Partners Summer Even-Esh ’29 and Jaycie Mair ’27 were able to collect the doubles point with a 6-3 win of their own.
With the Bison up 1-0 going into singles play, there was still a long road to reach a victory for the Orange and Blue. The next point came from Devraj, now at number six for the singles match-up, going 6-3, 6-2.
Abby Platt ’26 then added a point of her own after winning 6-4, 6-4 at No.1. The Raiders came back with a point of their own, bringing the match to 3-1. Manolov won her match and the game for the Bison with her 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at No.4. Despite securing points in the last two matches, the Raiders could not come back from the deficit, and the Orange and Blue walked away with the win.
The Orange and Blue will face Lafayette on Saturday, April 11, for their last Patriot League match of the season. The following day, the Bison will host their senior night game against Franklin & Marshall.
