Over the weekend, Women’s Lacrosse took on No. 22 Army. After a second-half surge from the Black Knights, the Bison fell just short of a marquee victory.
The Bison stayed sound defensively for the entirety of the first half, walking into the halftime locker room in just a 6-4 deficit. Turnovers plagued both clubs in the first frame, as there were 24 combined between the Bison and Black Knights and only 11 caused turnovers.
Army then outscored the Bison 3-1 to take a bit of a commanding lead, stretching it to 9-5 heading into the final quarter. The fourth quarter was even more lopsided, as Army tacked on seven more goals to the Bisons’ two. The Black Knights walked off with a 16-7 victory.
Caleigh Cummiskey ’29 led the way for the Orange and Blue with a hat trick, two of those goals coming in the fourth quarter. Regan Sansiviero ’26 followed behind with two goals of her own, and Caroline Sheridan ’26, along with Megan Krestinski ’26, each tallied one of their own.
Bella Crowley ’27 was fantastic in the net, going for 14 total saves.
Next up, the Orange and Blue will compete against Lehigh in Bethlehem Pa. on March 28.
